"Whole" and "part" can be difficult for young children to understand. Sometimes children get mixed up between the words hole and whole!
Use the language lots at home! For example: Would you like a whole apple/cake?
Your whole family is ... You are a part of the family.
Or play a game where you hide an object, leaving just a part of it visible and ask your child if they can guess what the whole object is?
