Thursday Fun!

This term our Thursday mornings have got even more exciting! After phonics the children have the chance to participate in a range of activities - art, music, cooking, visiting the goats and looking at our curriculum question which has been " Why are there so many leaves on the ground?"

We have learnt about a Japanese artist who loves spots called Yayoi Kusama, making clay pumpkins and dotty pictures in her style.

We have made and tasted vegetable soup, using fantastic chopping skills and finding out about some different vegetables!

We have found out all about Autumn and why all the leaves fall down off the trees. We have investigated the leaves we have found looking closely at the shapes and colours.

We have also sung some familiar nursery rhymes in Music sessions and got to know our goat mascots even better. (The children are all increasing in confidence when meeting them - even the larger Nubian goats!) We found they really like to eat the brown autumn leaves!

I wonder what will we learn in the second half of term?!
